As I promised our Way of Saint James did not end in Santiago, and continiously the blog gets updated to let you read how we made it through ten countries and closed the circle of the “Less-is-more-Tour”. For those readers who followed the Blog until now, they realized that there is not this mysterious black hole where all the pilgrims are walking into at the end of their pilgrimage and then disappear. We continue – as the project is even continuing in 2026 and further on.
Climate change doesn’t stop – so we can’t stop either!
We promised not to take an airplane back from Santiago as most of the pilgrims probably do once they’ve arrived at this destination. We continued our trip to show you can travel through ten countries within Europe bike without stepping on an aircraft.
But being already ahead of the readers I can tell you that this project is more demanding than we could have imagined. After being more than three months on tour we realised that there has hardly been a real rest day. If we were staying at a place more than one night, I was trying to catch up on this diary. So it was not a real pause either. At the end you can only do what time and energy allows you to do.
What we can say is that so far our own batteries were always exhausted earlier than the batteries of our bikes. I managed only once in the Picos de Europa to nearly empty the bike’s batteries in one single day.
But to give you some teasers what will be next:
The next countries we reached after the UK were Belgium and Netherlands, our ninth and tenth country, after we took the ferry back to the continent.
As we continue to update the blog, we are already planning to write about our further adventures, so be curious as to how the “Less-is-more-Tour” continues as a documentary is in preparation.
