A rainy day in the harbour town of Llanes

Today the weather forecast had nothing but rain predicted, and I was trying to use the time to catch up on our diary and update our “Less-is-more-Tour”-Blog.

We had a room with a view to the harbour, and while I was writing my texts I could observe the fisherman bringing in their fishing harvest. In the beginning the rain was not so heavy and we could still get some things organized like getting my back light repaired at the META sport bike shop. They had a cute collection of biking miniatures in their shop window. Robert got himself a haircut, went to a laundromat in town and found a detailed map of the Picos de Europa. Outside it started to pour really badly. There was so much water that we couldn’t even see cats and dogs raining.

There was not a lot to do on such a day other than having lunch at the Panaderia Gallofa & Co. For dessert I got Robert a speciality from the region at the Confitería Vega, and after that we warmed up with a hot chocolate at the Churros Chocolateria Helados-Peñasata which was a wonderful distraction. I kept on being productive typing on my laptop until we had dinner at the Sidrería Restaurante El Puerto, where we had fresh oysters.

All for gaining the energy for tomorrow to be able to attack the mountains of the Picos de Europa.
