Dipl. Ing. Nicolai Baehr

president 2024/2025 of the Rotary Club Starnberg

As an architect I worked internationally from 1998 to 2001 at the office of Jean Nouvel in Paris. Back in Germany I joined the family office of Baehr-Rödel architects in third generation. In 2010 I founded my own company “Necologix” for a first Nepal located Ecological Hotel at the foot of Mount Everest, which was awarded by the UNESCO as project for sustainable development in 2012-2014. The earthquake in 2015 and the Corona-crisis slowed down the project, but our Sherpa friends are still willing to finish their construction. My architecture company changed its name into Baehr-Rödel architects and urban planners.

Realizing, that sustainable construction is in public still too slowly catching up with the urge of reacting to the effects of climate change I created the idea of the ‘Less-is-More-Tour” as a project for Awareness-raising. At the end of my presidency in July 2025 the Tour will start by bike together with Robert Cramer.

Robert Cramer

Originally from the Netherlands, I have lived in Germany for the last 36 years. I worked as a lawyer in the European Patent Office and retired in October 2024. I love cycling adventures, am curious what people we will meet and landscapes we will discover. I hope we can show that doing something good for the planet does not necessarily mean abstention, but can also involve enjoyment and encounters that enrich life.

The logo

The logo for the ‘Less is More Tour’ campaign features a bicycle balanced between ‘yin and yang’, representing the atmosphere (blue) and nature (green leaf). The colours and languages change over the project period, from summer to autumn. The scallop shell in the European star wreath symbolises the connecting element of the Way of St. James over ten European countries on the route.
