It struck me like lightning that my presentation had to be reduced to a flash

18th of July I got up with the first rays of sunlight on the Mont Blanc by 5:30 am, because Wolfram explained me the tradition of their Rotary Club of Lausanne lunch meetings allow only a ten minutes flash presentation. So I started extra early in the morning to select the “Less-is-More-Essence” of my “Less-is-More-Presentation”. It took me quite some time on such a complex subject and the early morning was faster over than expected. By 11:00 am we had to leave the house to drive to Lausanne.

The Rotary Club Lausanne will count next year a hundred years old history and holds its meetings in the Lausanne Palace. Therefore I even brought my jacket with me and fixed my Rotary pin on the lapel for this occasion. The “Salon Olympique” was reserved for this event.

President Philippe Rebord introduced Robert and me together with Wolfram von Laun.

I performed the presentation all in French and tried my best to keep it as short as possible.

With my last phrases the Entrées were started to be served and it didn’t leave any more time for Q&A. But Philippe Rebord offered the audience after lunch the opportunity to still ask some questions and exchanged with me the Club flags.

It was quite energy absorbing to do such a conference in French and I fell already asleep on the way back home to have a wonderful two hours Siesta. Robert woke me up for taking a swim in the lake together with Elisabeth and Wolfram. The water was so clear that I could even see a shark on the ground. It was a kids toy which was lost in the water, but I warned Robert immediately, that there are sharks in the Lake Geneva. Probably there are, but of a different kind!

A wonderful three course dinner was served by Elisabeth outside under the blue evening sky and finished with candles and the most delicious dessert of a “Zuger cherry tarte”. What an intense day.
